I am so happy that I took the time and read all the reviews! This is an great choice for the money. I have a very large lab mix and a very small sheltie/cocker mix and it does a wonderful job on both. In the long run I will save a bundle on grooming expenses.

I bought these for my mom to use on her horses and one of her dogs. She said they work perfectly except that they don't hold a charge for very long. But they work long enough to get the job done quickly and quietly. She even uses them on one of her yearlings to trim the inside of her ears.

I don't think I've seen a review for someone who used this on a cat so mine may be the first. The clippers are smooth and quiet so that my normally skittish cat actually sat through the whole session without even a meow. However, one complaint is that the attachment blades don't really do much. I just used the clippers bare with no attachment. Needless to say, my cat looks insane, but at least his hair is gone and he doesn't seem to mind at all.

If I could sum up this product in one word it would be: EXCELLENT! Even then, that would be probably be an understatement.
I received this as a gift from my father the Christmas before my 18th birthday. I had been having problems with razor bumps (I'm African American, BTW) and he figured this might help. I remembered seeing it on TV commercials and touted in major shopping malls like it was some big name video game. Well, it certainly lives up to all the hype!
Initially I had a little bit of adapting to do to get used to the razor. My virgin skin was too frail, but after daily usage, I adjusted and now actually like the fresh feel of shaving every morning. I can't wait to get the optional cleaner device. It looks so cool and works so well. It's almost magical.
A fresh blade on this thing will cut through even the thickest hairs like warmed butter, but it will be gentle enough to come into contact with the softest parts of your neck and face and not cut you. You can replace just about every part of this device down to the plastic cover that protects the head and the internal rechargeable battery.
I liked the people at Braun technical support. Since this was a gift, I did not get it with a manual. When I called and asked if they had any manuals, they hurried and mailed me one for free with zero questions asked.
I'm madly in love with this razor and I think I'll keep it 'till the day I die. It's almost like a perfect marriage! :)

This product works really well on leg hair, but it does get painful since hair is being pulled out. I like it because it will work with only a few days worth of hair growth. When I use it on my arms, some of the hair seems to break off instead of being pulled out so that part grows back rather quickly. I can see areas on my legs where hair doesn't grow any more and it's thanks to this epilator. The annoying thing about epilators is they can only do a small section at a time while with waxing you get to remove larger strips at one go. It draws out the pain. All in all I would recommend this product. It does a good job removing hair, but seems to work better on thick hair than fine hair.

I have used this for over 2 years. It removes each hair at the root. I only really have to use it 1x weekly or longer in between. The hair grows in softer and thinner.
I recommend it to someone who does waxing today. It is much less expensive that that and you are already used to the initial shock/pain.
I can do some private areas, arm pits, & legs.
It is a good investment even if it only saves you from 2 or 3 whole leg and bikini waxings!

So yes, it does smart -- especially the first couple of times you do it. However, it doesn't hurt anymore, just feels like a tingly prickly sensation -- like after your foot falls asleep. The instruction manual recommends using the silk-epil after bathing, and I have found that to be helpful. You are just very relaxed after a hot bath or shower, and then voila! -- your shaving is done for the week!You should use a loofah or something similar too -- it helps guard against ingrown hairs.

I have a very small dog and this was to trim around eyes, ears, paws and his little behind but it won't cut at all. He goes to the groomer and his hair is never thick or long and this gadget can't even handle the in between trims. I guess you get what you pay for.

My Wife bought this exact model for me back in 1997!!! ((( I kid you not )))AND, It's just now quitting on me. For the price, size, reliability, and not to mention how well it does its job; I will not buy any other brand of trimmer again. This is my second clipper, the other is left at our vacation home. I have been using this for over three years on my Shih Tzu and just got another one. Fabulous for trimming the hair on the bottom of his paws as it's very important to keep this area trimmed, and for his private area - as private as a dog's area can be:-). Don't let the name Equistrian fool you, this model is cheaper than the one listed for pets. Wahl told me that they are exactly the same trimmer, only the color and name are different and the price.

This is the second Wahl pet trimmer I've owned. They make quick work of trimming around the face, feet, and delicate areas. I wouldn't be without one. Battery life is excellent.

I've had the battery operated Wahl pet trimmer for at least six years. I use it on my Shih Tzu dogs around their eyes/nose, private parts, and feet. The only trouble I've had with it is that the on/off switch didn't work once. Being a former electronic technician I was able to troubleshoot the unit and bend part of the metal contact for the switch and it has worked fine ever since. In addition I use a rechargeable AA battery and that works fine. I think the trimmer is about as loud as my regular corded (whole body) trimmers. The dogs don't care.
I've bought small corded pet trimmers but they are just a little "too big" for my small dogs. And a battery operated human mustache trimmer didn't work since the teeth of the blades are too close together. It seems dog hairs get cut easier with wider spaced trimmer teeth. I am getting paranoid that my current trimmer may give out anytime soon so am considering getting this one as a replacement.
