I admit I got this rather on speculation because I was hoping it would provide a quick and easy solution to a woman's occasional lip or chin hair. It didn't work at all for that. It just glided over the skin and, while it did no damage and wasn't uncomfortable, it really didn't do anything about hair removal either.



It really is hard to find products suitable for women's facial hair and yet it's a pretty common problem. Ah well. Back to the razors designed for young men I guess.

WARNING. Before you purchase this look at the other reviews of Wahl 5560 as well to better inform yourself. I purchased this product because of the Wahl name. I own their plug-in electric hair groomer and it is powerful and well made. Unfortunately, this nose trimmer is not of the same quality. It is cheaply made foreign junk with the Wahl name stamped on it. The cutter actually did a decent job, for a week or two. Then started having trouble with the little motor, wouldn't turn or cut. I took it apart and the motor looks like a cheap motor from a toy in a happy meal. Waste of money. I am suspicious of all these hyper positive reviews and unhappy i've wasted money on a cheap product. I was very disappointed. Caveat emptor. os

I've used the Panasonic rotary clipper for many years until I dropped it and it died. I thought I'd try the Wahl because is has the dual head. The rotary head works very well but I am not sure of the value of the second head. Either way it is a great clipper. One of the frustrating issues is snapping the plastic cover back on, it has to be in just the right position.

Purchased this to replace an older Braun razor that was not specifically designed for travel. This one is more compact, lighter, and has a built-in protective, "swing-away" cap that also keeps it from accidentally being switched on. It's easy to use and clean, and after about 6 uses, it seems to give a pretty good shave. My only minor gripe is that the trimmer is situated such that it's a little difficult for me to use, and it's a little difficult to push the trimmer back into the shaver body once it's out. However, I definitely am happy with the product.

I purchased this shaver after trying a $15 model that worked but the head kept coming apart. I have been extremely satisfied with the Braun and use it every day. Good shave and no irritation. Better than the $100 Norelco I bought and gave to my son because it didn't shave as well as I wanted. He couldn't use it because his beard is even tougher than mine. For the money, the Braun is a great buy and you can get replacement heads so it will last. No rechargable batteries that have questionable life. All around great deal.

For day-to-day shaves it does an adequate job and will keep you looking good. It isn't a $200 shaver--so don't expect a $200 shave. If you use it every day, you'll be happy with the decent shave. When I went for more than three days between shaves, it didn't give as clean a shave on my neck--though my face shaved fine. I have a fairly sensitive neck and this shaver did not cause any razor burn whatsoever. Best shaves occur when you hold the head as perpendicular to the area being shaved as you can. Shaving was about as fast as a regular electric shaver.



East to use, easy to clean. Wet shave feature is a nice option--I didn't really see any advantage when I wet shave, but the wet shave does make cleaning the shaver easier. Runs forever on one set of batteries. Travels very well.



Yeah, I was skeptical that a shaver under $20 would give me anything more than severe razor burn--boy was I wrong. In this case, at least for me, the inexpensive price tag does not equate to the quality of the shave. I did buy and try several other portable shavers--this one beat them all. I'd buy another one in a heart beat.

This cheapy little shaver is very well made,but does not feel cheap at all. Works off of 2AA batteries. Shaves my beard well - however I still prefer a blade shave in the morning but usually feel like I need a "touch-up" in late afternoon if I am doing anything. I can use it while at my laptop or while reading to clean up my chin and neck. Easy to clean, easy to change batteries. I have two.

I bought this shaver after my old Remington Titanium finally quit. I was very, very disappointed in the Braun's performance. Shaving took forever. It didn't shave closely at all, requiring pass after pass after pass. And, because it has no separate foil/blade protector (it fits in a tight fitting case), beard residue leaks all over. I asked Braun if they had a protector. They said no, and that I should wash the shaver after every use. Thank goodness for Amazon's return policy! I bought another Remington, which was both cheaper and much better.

I have used Braun electric razors for the last 20 years. I love Braun. I recently needed to replace my Braun Series 5 (8995), so I ordered the series 3 370, hoping to save some money. Right away, I noticed it did not shave my face very well. I had to keep going over the same places several times to get the job done. By the time I was half way through, the razor was so hot that I had to let it cool before I finished. Then I tried to shave my neck with the trimmer. The trimmer is simply pathetic! How did this razor pass inspection at Braun? Anyway, I sent it back, and purchased the Braun 790. Yes, it costs 3 times more then the 370, but now I know why. The 790 is the best razor I have ever used! I actually look forward to shaving in the morning now. It shaves so close, that the next day I have less of a beard. Trust me. Spend the money. I am very pleased with this shaver. Being washable makes it convenient for traveling. The shaving head is comfortable but it takes a few passes to get a close shave. I think this is a function of the thickness of the screen; the thinner the screen the closer the shave but the more fragile it becomes. Braun seems to have found a good compromise.

I had used a Remington Classic since around 1986. Since they stopped making that, I just wanted a simple shaver that can handle longer stubble without fuss (I often go a few days without shaving). This one fits the bill. Things I like:



1. No fancy "cleaning station" to take up yet more real estate on my bathroom counter - also less bulky for travel, and I can handle cleaning under the tap and with a brush anyway.

2. Hacks through a few days of stubble without any problem - actually a pleasure to use, feels kinda like a cadillac running around your face

3. There is a trimmer in between the two foils, which I believe helps to handle the longer hairs.

4. Also a pop-up trimmer for doing stuff like cleaning up the hairs above the ear area etc. Works very well.

5. Charges up reasonably quickly (a couple of hours).

6. Nice foil guard which also covers the "on" switch for traveling, to make sure it can't switch on in your bag

7. Very simple universal charger which is light and works with 110-240V.

8. The head has independent suspension - each foil moves like on its own springs. Very nice feeling on the face.

9. Good quality German engineering.



All in all I am very happy with this shaver. The first time I used it, it seemed to not give a very close shave, and pulled a couple of hairs - but subsequent shaves have been much better. Maybe the shaver needed a day to run in, or maybe I got used to it... either way, I actually look forward to shaving now.



My only concern is that there is apparently a nickel metal hydride battery inside, rather than lithium, which means it'll probably eventually run out of recharge cycles (like my electric toothbrush, which is a few years old now and doesn't hold a charge very long any more). Also I can't see any instructions for replacing the battery, so I guess once that goes then it's time for a new shaver. But in the meantime I'm sure I'll get a couple of years at least of good, fuss-free shaving.

I have had several Braun shavers in the past and this is by far the worst one I've ever used. My last one broke that I'd had for 5+ years and I switched to another brand. I wasn't satisfied and decided to try the Braun Series 1. Bad mistake. This shaver doesn't cut as smoothly as the others I have used. It also takes 3-4 times as long now to shave than before. The holes in the screen seem to be smaller and they aren't irregular shaped as in the past. All of this contributes to a shave that takes longer than it should. I'm one of the lucky men who can go 3-4 days without having to shave and have never had problems with past Braun shavers. This is not true now. Even shaving the next day with the Series 1 is a chore.

I've been a loyal Braun user for the last 4 years. I bought a 3 series last year that disappeared on me much to my chagrin and is a story for another time. In either case, I wasn't interested in paying $75 again and decided to get the Series 1 over any of the other brands.



While this razor is much more convenient then your typical razor and blades, it is horrible in comparison to the 3 Series. My face is more of an upside down egg shape, with my jaw tapering down but with a strong chin and this razor just didn't work for me. My old 3 series could shave my entire face in about 3 to 5 minutes depending on growth and with stops to find random hairs. This 1 series took twice as long and it never felt or looked like I was getting a CLOSE shave.



Now I figured that this was just due to the fact that it's an entry level razor however, I saw a Remington DA 307 for less money and decided to give it a shot since it has 2 foils like my old 3 series and it is almost depressingly superior.



If you are thinking of replacing your current electric razor and/or you are looking to go to a straight electric (Remington, Braun style) over the circular (Norelco style), just skip over this one as it'll leave you with a false impression about this style of razor.

I bought this ($40 at a local drugstore) to replace an old Braun 5005 whose screen had worn through (again). It's quieter and lighter than the 5005, which makes for a more pleasant shaving experience. There was no problem getting a close shave, even though I have a heavy beard. The shaver runs on internal (non-replaceable) batteries which, according to the manual, take 8 hours to charge after they've been broken in. The batteries must be charged for the shaver to work; it won't run while charging. A charge is supposed to last for about 20 minutes. Surprisingly, they recommend cleaning the shaver under hot running water while it's turned on (although unplugged from the wall adapter). Have to see how well that works. The shaver comes with a small bottle of lubricating oil, a brush, and an instruction booklet. Made in China; construction quality appears satisfactory. There's also a similar Model 140 that lacks the sideburn trimmer.

I have a Braun SyncroPro 7505 shaver which is now about 4 years old. This is the 3rd Braun that I have owned and have always had wonderful service from this brand. I bought my first Braun, many years ago, when I was on a diplomatic mission to Omsk, Siberia. I did not know what kind of power outlets I was going to find, so after some experiments, I leaned that the Braun shaver will perform for many more days on a battery charge than other shavers.

As for the replacement head, it fit my shaver perfectly and it does, indeed, shave closer than my 4 year old original head. Perhaps the next time I won't wait quite as long. :)
