Title says it all -- they don't seem to steer the defective parts to the replacement market, as some industries do. Good parts.

I needed replacement blades and these did the trick. They allowed me to get a better shave than my old blades and that is a good thing. With that said, they certainly have some downsides.



(1) They're quite expensive. I might have to consider getting a new razor before purchasing these again.



(2) They don't trigger the "intensive cleaning needed" message on my 8995 like my old blades. Previously, I'd get the cleaning message after about 10-15 minutes of shaving ... now I could shave for hours and it'll never pop up. Is that a deal-breaker? No, I can figure out when I should clean the razor on my own, but wasn't that LCD/notification one of the supposed perks of the 8995 over lower models?



(3) They retain much more hair than my old blades ever did. The hair really collects on the inside ends of the blades, so you have to get at it with the brush after each shave. If you don't, you will have to replace your cleaning solution a lot sooner.

the new foil i received must be defective. i just put on the new blade and foil and the foil already has a hole in it. i used the original foil for quite some time before a hole appeared

Feels like a new shaver!

Would have given it a 5 if not for the price. A bit much for what you get, should have been more like $20.00.Amazon was the best price I found
